Two-Factor Authentication Made Easy

Add an extra layer of security. Step-by-step setup for text codes and authenticator apps.

Password plus a code = much stronger security

With two-factor authentication (2FA), you enter your password and then a code from your phone. Even if someone steals your password, they can’t get in without the code.

Text message codes (easiest)

The site sends a 6-digit code to your phone. You enter it to finish signing in. Simple, but text messages can sometimes be intercepted. Still much better than no 2FA.

Authenticator apps (more secure)

Apps like Google Authenticator or Microsoft Authenticator generate codes on your phone. No text needed. Slightly more setup, but more secure.

How to set it up

  1. Log in to the account (email, bank, etc.).
  2. Go to Settings or Security.
  3. Find “Two-factor authentication,” “2FA,” or “Two-step verification.”
  4. Choose text message or authenticator app.
  5. Follow the steps to verify your phone.

Never share codes

Real companies will never ask for your 2FA code by phone, email, or text. If someone asks for it, it’s a scam. Hang up or delete the message.
