Kind Tech Ops, LLC ("we," "us," or "our") operates the KindTech website at kindtech.support. This Privacy Policy explains how we collect, use, disclose, and safeguard your information when you browse our guides, use interactive practice lessons, run the message checker, or contact us.

2. Information We Collect

We may collect the following types of information:

• Contact information: Information you choose to send us, such as your name and email address when you email us or create an account.
• Account information: If you sign in, our authentication provider stores basic account details (for example, email) to manage your session.
• Message checker input: Text you paste into the scam message checker so we can analyze it. We treat pasted messages as sensitive and do not write message content to our server logs.
• On-device lesson progress: Your current step in public practice lessons, saved in your browser so you can resume. This stays on your device unless you clear site data.
• Usage data: If you accept optional analytics, limited page-view and performance data about how you use selected parts of the site (see Cookies and Tracking).
• Communications: Records of emails when you contact us at hello@kindtech.support.

3. How We Use Your Information

We use your information to:

• Provide educational guides, practice lessons, and the message checker
• Operate the trusted links directory and related site features
• Improve our website and understand aggregate usage when you opt in to analytics
• Respond to your inquiries
• Comply with legal obligations and protect our rights

4. Third-Party Services

We use trusted third-party services to operate our business. These providers may process your data on our behalf:

• TypeSafe: When you use the message checker, we send the text you paste (trimmed to our length limit) and brief contextual metadata to TypeSafe's API (typesafe.ai) for automated scam-risk analysis. TypeSafe processes the content as our processor and returns results to us; we do not log the pasted message in our application logs.
• Supabase: Database storage for site features such as the links directory and member tools where applicable
• Vercel: Website hosting and, if you accept analytics, optional visit and performance analytics
• Clerk: User authentication and account management when you sign in

Each provider has its own privacy policy. We select providers that adhere to industry-standard security and privacy practices.

5. Affiliate Links and Partnerships

Some links on our website (including in our trusted links directory and app recommendations) are affiliate links. If you sign up or make a purchase through these links, we may earn a small commission at no extra cost to you. We only recommend products and services we believe are helpful and safe for our audience. We disclose this relationship near any monetized link. Affiliate partners and networks (e.g. CJ Affiliate) may set cookies or receive data when you click these links; their practices are governed by their own privacy policies.

6. Cookies and Tracking

Optional Vercel visit and performance analytics load only after you choose Accept analytics. You can decline and still use our lessons. Use Privacy choices at the bottom of any page to change your decision; declining stops future optional analytics events, but does not delete data already received by a provider.

We save your privacy choice on this device for up to 180 days, then ask again. We also ask again when the version of these choices changes. If browser storage is unavailable, your choice applies in the current tab until you refresh. Existing unversioned choices require a new decision.

Practice lessons save your current step on this device so you can resume. This does not require analytics consent and is not sent as a learning event. Optional analytics are limited to our homepage, learning and Scam Mission hubs, and the two public practice lessons. We remove query strings and fragments from the page URLs passed to analytics. Vercel may also process request metadata such as referrer, browser, device and approximate location.

Hosting, security and sign-in services are separate from optional analytics and may process requests or use cookies where needed. Direct visits to the two public practice lessons do not initialize our Clerk sign-in interface or authentication middleware. Visiting other pages may load sign-in services; changing analytics preferences does not sign you out or erase existing sign-in cookies.

7. Data Retention

We retain your information for as long as needed to provide services, comply with legal obligations, resolve disputes, and enforce our agreements. You may request deletion of your data by contacting us.

8. Data Security

We implement appropriate technical and organizational measures to protect your personal information against unauthorized access, alteration, disclosure, or destruction. However, no method of transmission over the internet is 100% secure.

9. Your Rights

Depending on your location, you may have the right to:

• Access the personal data we hold about you
• Correct or update inaccurate data
• Request deletion of your data
• Object to or restrict certain processing
• Data portability
• Withdraw consent (where processing is based on consent)
